The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope (1894) is a classic adventure story. These two extracts are from the opening chapters.
1. Rassendylls and Elphbergs: Rudolf Rassendyll, a young underemployed London playboy, decides to attend the coronation of his distant cousin, Rudolf Elphberg, in Ruritania. By a strange quirk of genetics, the two Rudolfs look like identical twins.
1.2. Rassendyll secretly takes the train to Strelsau. He learns about the mysterious Antoinette du Mauban and stops in the town of Zenda, with its famous castle.
